Composite containers sometimes are also called fibre cans or paper cans, and they were introduced on the market long before World War II already. At that time, they were considered as a cheap substitute packaging to
replace the expensive tinplate or glass packaging.
Today, composite containers have become a packaging material of its own no longer resembling the cheap improvised packaging of that time. The designation of composite containers stems from
the design of the can. They are made of various raw materials mostly on paper basis.
